Digital Hampshire – First Event of 2016: Making Something Useful
The next Digital Hampshire mini-conference and the first of 2016 will take place on Wednesday 24th February, with a focus on making digital useful experiences. The format is welcome drinks at 6pm with two 30 minute talks starting at 6.45 taking us till 7.45. We then de-camp to the Pitcher and Piano next to the venue (Winchester Guildhall) for the all important networking.
Making Data Useful
Chris Cooper of KnowNow will talk about a new innovation code named ‘TRUST API’. With a compelling new UX and a simple control that allows a user to throttle in real time how apps on their mobile device use the data generated from the device and other personal information apps want to access. Chris will explain why this is important, relevant and necessary. Plus explain how the innovation came about as well as giving attendees the opportunity of seeing the innovation in action.
KnowNow Information are Smart Cities IT Innovators and Chris is the innovation lead focusing on making realtime information useful and outcomes centric, albeit in a safe, secure and sustainable way. Chris is a Chartered Engineer with 18+ years IT experience and a graduate social scientist. Chris’ was previously the Smart Cities Technical leader at IBM UK Ltd.

Ross Chapman, Senior UX Designer at Wiggle will give attendees a quick overview of what User Experience (UX) design is and offer his ten top design hacks that everyone attending can use in their business websites and online.
Ross Chapman is a senior user experience designer at online tri-sports retailer Wiggle. He’s responsible for developing the UX of the Wiggle website across all customer contact points. Prior to joining Wiggle Ross was a senior UX designer at Ericsson.
